At the Wellness Lounge, we’re always tuned in to the latest trends and, most importantly, how we can best support Alaskans on their unique health journeys. Whether you’re recovering from a Liposuction, BBL, Tummy Tuck, or a Mommy Makeover, we know that healing is a deeply personal experience. That’s why we’re here to help you every step of the way with the tools and care you need to make your recovery as smooth and speedy as possible.

Our post-op massages aren’t just about pampering—they’re proven to accelerate healing, reduce discomfort, and help bring out the best version of you. Here’s how we can support your journey based on the procedure you’ve had:

How Many Post-Op Massages Do You Need After Liposuction?

Most clients benefit from 10 to 20 post-op massage sessions. We usually start with 3 sessions in the first week, then taper to 2 per week for the following weeks. This schedule aligns with your body’s healing rhythm, helping to reduce swelling, improve blood circulation, and sculpt your body’s contours to perfection.

Post-Op Massage After a BBL: What to Expect

A Brazilian Butt Lift is all about creating a beautiful, sculpted result. To support that, 10 to 20 post-op massages are typically recommended. This focused approach nurtures the areas where liposuction was performed, ensuring that your curves look and feel their best.

Tummy Tuck Post-Op Massage Frequency

The recovery from a tummy tuck can be intensive. We recommend starting with 2-3 massages a week during the initial recovery phase, beginning a week after surgery. As you heal, the frequency will decrease. If liposuction is done alongside the tummy tuck, your massage plan may vary, and your therapist will tailor it to your unique needs.

Post-Op Massage After a Mommy Makeover: Your Recovery Companion

A Mommy Makeover is an intensive journey, and we’ve designed a pre- and post-surgery care plan to make sure you feel supported throughout. We recommend a total of 7 massages, starting with two a week for the first two weeks and tapering off as you heal. Start your massages one week after surgery to help your body on its recovery path.

Tips for Healing

Our pre- and post-surgery IV hydration bags are a great way to speed up your recovery and keep your body at its best. Gentle walks and mindful stretching are perfect additions to your recovery, boosting circulation and relieving tension. Focus on nourishing your body with a whole food diet, 9-10 hours of sleep, light exercise, and minimal stress. Red light therapy is also a great way to support your body’s healing internally. Stay hydrated to support optimal lymphatic drainage and amplify your massage benefits. We offer IV treatments that can enhance your recovery plan!

What to Avoid After a Post-Op Massage

After a massage, it’s important to avoid activities that can put strain on your treated areas. This means no heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, or anything that creates unnecessary pressure. We also encourage avoiding any fragrances any lotions/soaps with fragrances and chemicals. A balanced, whole food diet will support your healing, and try to avoid alcohol for about a month to give your body the best chance to heal.

When Can You Start Post-Op Massages After Surgery?

In most cases, you can start your post-op massages within 24-48 hours after surgery. However, the exact timing will depend on your procedure and recovery plan. It's always best to coordinate with your surgeon to ensure that you're aligning your massage schedule with your body’s healing pace.
